Breaking news (I'm a week late)!!!!

Hey guys its Caitlyn back after I don’t know how long but as some of you know we had an earthquake in Kaikoura and wow did it do damage anyway they will need to have a lot of resilience to get through this one anyway this is breaking news. Questions for this week's blog

What happened? At 12:02am Kaikoura and southern Wellington were woken by a 5.1 Magnitude earthquake and this has caused about 4-5000 aftershocks in the last week and buildings are still being secured and people were evacuated from their homes because of a tsunami warning and a bigger earthquake but the next morning some people came home to see that they were robbed after leaving with a tsunami warning. hundreds of people

What are the facts about the earthquake?

1.The earthquake was a 7.8 Magnitude.

2.A ship from Canterbury got the tourists out.

3.The S.S Canterbury has brought in a whole cargo ship of supplies for those who live in kaikoura and all those affected by it.

4.This has left 2 dead and many more injured.

5.There were houses robbed after people were evacuated because of a tsunami warning.

Who has been affected?
Thousands of people were affected and two families are grieving for the 2 people killed by the quake and a little girl in a wheelchair who lost everything in the quake.
Who else felt the quake?
South wellington and some of the North and South Island.
What does this mean for NZ?
Umm well this will take years to fix so this will cost John key millions to get the tourist attraction up and running again so this means people fundraising and the red cross sending things like blankets and toys down.

Here are some handy tips to survive an earthquake.
Tips to survive an earthquake:
1.make up a survival kit and put in a easy to grab place and practice the stop drop and hold for during an earthquake preparation.
2.When an earthquake happens drop and hold something stable like a table or leg of your bed never hold a chair because it will just jump away.
3.After, you should try and ring a family member and say there was an earthquake you are fine then go to a safe house or go and see if your neighbors are fine.
Thanks for reading now here are some pics of the damage see ya next week,Bye!

Last Friday

This was last term
Hi everyone I did something awesome last week and it was called learning in the making conference and it was cool well I think my last workshop was pretty cool but anyway I better get into the important stuff.
Last Friday I went to my first ever learning in the making conference.First we had a talk with a guy but I forgot his name but anyway he told us about what jobs there might be in the future like if you were in Africa and could do an operation with a game controller because you had a robot do it for you and you control it.After I went to the mad scientist returns with Mrs b We had a balloon, a straw and tape you needed to try and come up with a way to make your balloon go the furthest mine didn’t work but it was still fun. Next I did team building with Ra we did played a game called spotty problem and we nearly then we played a game called the Simpsons family it was tricky but it was fun. After that I did film making and it was awesome! I did it with Tayla and we made a short film and was a very good one to watch we did four parts the first two we got lost watching a game of touch and in the 2nd to last we went on a tour to watch the hula hoop show and I got lost in the last shot but I found home again. So what were the key points of this post?

What was your favourite workshop and why? I liked the film-making because I learnt a lot about the camera and how to make a short film.

What new skills did you learn? I have got a bit of teamwork and problem solving.

What else did you learn? I learned that if something doesn’t work you need to keep trying no matter what.
