Attitude day

Today a man came named Lex and talked to us about who we are, and he was really funny! He told us a lot of stories, my favourite one was about two twins in jail, one of them went to uni after! He also told us jokes! We did this quiz about what animal we were, I'm a golden retriever! I am calm and relaxed and the peacemaker. after that, I did a self-portrait. I learnt what genes were, they are what you and your parents share. I also learnt that it's ok to be weird and that attitude is a thing!! oh well that is all for today, Bye!!!

What helps me learn?

Hey everyone today we are doing the learning smarts test again. if you remember last year, I did it and my top three were music smart, body smart and nature smart. I am 100% music smart and 78% body smart. Music smart means that you have a strength in music and music helps you learn best. Body smart means that you are active and love to move around and being active helps you learn best.

Blockers and drivers

Hi everyone, Today we are doing 5 blockers and 5 drivers. Blockers are things that stop us from connecting to our learning like if you unplug a cord, power cant get to it and drivers are things that help us learn, they help steer us in the right direction, like a map.

Blockers:
Friends can distract us and unplug our brains from what we are supposed to be doing
Teachers can block our learning by just going on and on about something and we get bored.
Stupid noises people make can distract us because they are loud and you look up to see where it's coming from.
Computers can make us do the wrong thing when we are supposed to be learning
Weather can be loud, like when it rains and when it's sunny you want to be outside not in the classroom.
Bullies can distract us because they tell you mean things and we think more about what they say then what we are doing

Drivers:
Friends can help us and so can new people because you might not know something and they are really good at it
Changing spaces can refresh our minds so we don't sit in the same place
Music can help some people focus
Finishing all your work can give you a good feeling and make you work even harder next time
Teachers can also help us by telling us in detail what we are doing

Beach ed fun!

Hey, guys, it's me and yesterday I went to the Beach education in Waihi and it was fun! When we got there we went over the surf safety and played who want to be a millionaire, I was chosen and instead of a million dollars I won a million grains of sand! after that, we got a tour of the grounds and after that, we had morning tea. We got to plat seaweed, beach run and relays, it was hard to run in the sand! We had lunch and then did a few rounds in the water, then we went int the waves and jumped them, They were really big! Overall I would do it all again! it was really fun and we learnt a lot. Here is a group photo we took!
